P Venugopal of AIADMK (alliance: NDA) won in this seat defeating VCK. AIADMK polled 6,28,499 of the total of 12,54,441 votes polled. AIADMK won the seat in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
Thiruvallur goes to the polls in the 2st phase of the 2019 General Elections to choose the 17th Lok Sabha on Thursday, April 18, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
