It is a Semi-Urban constituency with an approximate literacy rate of 87.72%. There are 16,12,739 voters of which 8,48,217 are male and 7,64,503 are female and 19 voters of the third gender.
Adsul Anandrao Vithoba of SS (alliance: NDA) won in this seat defeating NCP. SS polled 4,67,212 of the total of 10,04,062 votes polled. SS won the seat in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
Amravati goes to the polls in the 2st phase of the 2019 General Elections to choose the 17th Lok Sabha on Thursday, April 18, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
