Adhalrao Shivaji Dattatray of SS (alliance: NDA) won in this seat defeating NCP. SS polled 6,43,415 of the total of 10,89,506 votes polled. SS won the seat in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
Shirur goes to the polls in the 4st phase of the 2019 General Elections to choose the 17th Lok Sabha on Monday, April 29, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
